Exposing Lies and Revealing Truth

My passion for apologetics began when God exposed my lies.

As a teen, I believed I would go to heaven because my good deeds outweighed my bad ones. I also ascribed my own definitions to good and bad, which put most of my sins into the “good” category from my perspective.

But one day, all that changed.

At age 20, I heard the gospel and started reading the Bible. Every time I read the Scriptures, the words sprung off their pages and plunged deep into my soul—exposing my lies and revealing God’s truth. It was like Jesus lovingly threw ice water in my face to wake me up from my deceptive slumber.

A few months later, I surrendered my life to Jesus by faith, trusting Him for my forgiveness and salvation and not my works.

Overnight, Jesus changed my life, mindset, and desires. He planted an intense passion in my heart for His Word because it was what exposed my deception and led me to eternal life.

Since then, He has given me a relentless burden to help lost and deceived individuals know biblical truth. If Jesus loved me enough to use His Word to expose my fallacies and lead me to eternal life—how could I not do the same for others?

Jesus calls all Christians to preach the gospel and make disciples (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:15), and part of His plan requires defending and contending for the faith.

How are you helping lost and deceived individuals know biblical truth? I would love to hear about it in the comments.
